Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15 in 1961) is an American actor. She has been recognized for her TV and film performances since the early 1980s. Her awards comprise two Golden Globe Awards, sixteen NAACP Image Awards as well as nominations for Academy Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett was raised living in Winston-Salem North Carolina, raised by an Aunt who lived in New York New York. Bassett and her sister, who were about five years old, moved from New York to St. Petersburg to live with their mother, who was the divorced father. Bassett chose to become an actress after seeing the production Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. The year was 1980 and Bassett was graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut with a degree in African American studies. She also received a degree from the Yale School of Drama. She dated Courtney B. Vance, a fellow actress at Yale and they married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Master of Arts (Afro-American studies) in the year 1980. An M.A. in Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett, who plays Ramonda the female protagonist in the adventure action film I. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022).
